YouTube issues further warnings on article 13

YouTube CEO, Susan Wojcicki, has denounced article 13 in a statement via the SaveYourInternet campaign. In the statement, they claim that the implementation of this article will pose “a threat to both your livelihood and your ability to share your voice with the world”, and would force YouTube to prioritise content from large companies. The statement also notes that due to new liability rules for platform intermediaries, risks would be too high to host smaller content creators, resulting in a loss of both cultural diversity and jobs.
