New collaborative project “Don’t Wreck The Net” released

15 November 2018

A new collaborative project entitled “Don’t Wreck The Net”, akin to #SaveYourInternet, has been released. Supported by companies including Reddit, Vimeo, and Patreon, the new website encourages users to contact MEPs with their concerns over articles 11 and 13 of the Copyright Directive. The website details “grave concerns” over the content of these articles, and provides detailed amendments for both (short of deleting the articles in entirety, which they describe as the “ideal solution”). Overall, it cautions that: “[w]e should be very careful before making significant changes to fundamental concepts of how the internet works”.
