Academic Society for Competition Law (ASCOLA) UK Chapter is pleased to announce a call for papers for an upcoming webinar series on the intersection of technological change and antitrust history.
This series aims to gather scholars to discuss the patterns of technological innovation and transformation (from the Industrial Revolution to digital platforms) that impact industries, economies, and societies over time, and how antitrust has come into play with cycles of technological change.
We welcome submissions that examine historical patterns of technological change and their interaction with competition, concentration of economic power, and regulatory responses. Papers may address topics such as the antitrust implications of industrialization, the rise of telecommunications and media conglomerates, the interrelated development of antitrust and intellectual property laws. We also welcome interdisciplinary approaches that incorporate perspectives from antitrust law, legal history, the history of economics, the history of economic thought, and other relevant fields. We invite scholars from around the world to contribute.
