The Law of Innovation

Innovation is central to the world’s most pressing challenges and features prominently in UK and EU policy.

The concept of innovation, however, has been understood (and treated) differently across various fields of law, including competition law and intellectual property. The Law of Innovation theme aims to grapple with the multifaceted, complex nature of this concept. We are interested in the meaning and influence of innovation, to what extent and the discrete ways it has shaped legal doctrine and policy in the fields of study, as well as its potential effect on standards of behaviour and market regulation more generally.
