DB-COMP: A curated full-text searchable database of European Commission antitrust and merger caselaw

Summary:

The DB-COMP database is the first of its kind full-text searchable database of European Commission antitrust caselaw. It was initially developed as part of the research project on “The Goals of EU Competition Law: A Comprehensive Empirical Investigation” by Prof Konstantinos Stylianou (University of Glasgow) and Dr Marios Iacovides (Uppsala University). You can find the results here and here.  The project was funded through a Swedish Competition Authority research grant and an ESRC Impact Acceleration Account grant. The database is now maintained by CREATe and has been expanded to also catalogue Digital Markets Act decisions. It is the only database that allows full text search of EC competition law decisions and the only database to catalogue decisions going back to the 1960s (in English). It attracts traffic from researchers in more than 60 countries worldwide and has received praise for its free and open nature.
