Political Economy of Digital Regulation

PoliticalEconomy175x200
Regulation involves intervening in digital spaces.  Our approach is rooted in the analysis of power relations and how these affect key actors – states, big tech, smaller-scale players, organised civil society. We are interested in cross-regulatory challenges posed by technological transformations and the impact of geopolitics and geoeconomics on claims to digital sovereignty.

The theme is co-led by Martin Kretschmer and Philip Schlesinger.
