30 November 2017

Over 80 European and global organisations have signed and sent an open letter to the Competitiveness Council in regards to the Copyright Directive. The letter states “serious concerns” that the introduction of the Copyright Directive in its current form will cause “irreparable damage to our fundamental rights and freedoms, our economy and competitiveness, our education and research, our innovation and competition, our creativity and our culture”. The letter includes an annex of all known letters, opinions, studies and statements sent in respect of the proposed Directive, outlining multiple and serious concerns.
