Further postponement of JURI vote on the Copyright in the Digital Single Market Directive

13 April 2018

JURI has further postponed their vote on agreeing the European Parliament’s final view and amendments to the existing draft of the proposed Copyright Directive. This matter no longer appears on the agenda for the meeting on 23/24 April 2018 (having been postponed since July 2017, further postponed several times, last since the scheduling for 27 March 2018). The new date for the vote is 20/21 June 2018. A meeting of the Committee of the Permanent Representatives of the Governments of the Member States to the European Union (COREPER) is scheduled ahead of the JURI vote, and is anticipated on 27 April 2018 (with further discussion anticipated during the Competitiveness Council meeting on 28/29 May).
