European Broadcasting Union expresses disappointment following agreement on Copyright Directive mandate

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has expressed disappointment following the agreement of a common approach to the current draft of the Copyright Directive. In particular, the EBU take issue with the contract law provisions contained in Articles 14-15 (which include an obligation to report automatically, and individually, to copyright owners at least once a year), noting that “[these] will result in cumbersome bureaucratic procedures for our Members”.
