Call for papers: EPIP2020 Conference

The European Policy for Intellectual Property association – EPIP – announces its 15th Annual Conference in Madrid, Spain, from 9 to 11 September 2020, hosted by the Institute of Public Goods and Policies at the  Spanish National Research Council, CSIC-IPP in Madrid, Spain.Scholars from all disciplines and practitioners interested in the economic, managerial, legal and political aspects of intellectual property (IP) are all encouraged to submit and/or to attend. All forms of IP are relevant, whether patents, copyrights, trademarks, plant breeding rights, geographical indications, design rights, trade secrets or others.

Topics

Submissions on all IP-related topics are invited and contributions on the following topics are encouraged:

•Challenges for patent and trademark offices

•Income distribution and IP

•Competition and IP

•IP and environmental sustainability

•IP and science-industry links

•Artificial intelligence and IP

•Authorship in the digital era

•IP and new innovation metrics

Paper submission information

Full papers or extended abstracts must be submitted via the online submission system at https://epip2020.org/submissions/ Preference will be given to full paper submissions. All submissions will be peer-reviewed.

•Paper submission opens: 3 February 2020

•Paper submission deadline: 3 April 2020

•Announcement of paper selection: 25 May 2020

Themed sessions

EPIP 2020 invites applications for a limited number of themed sessions on any relevant topic. Interested chairs must submit a short session description including 3-4 abstracts (preferably extended abstracts) of the proposed contributions directly to committee@epip2020.org within the deadline indicated below. The proposal will be reviewed by the organizers of EPIP 2020, who reserve the right to make acceptance conditional on following up on suggested alterations.

•Themed session submission deadline: 31 January 2020

•Announcement themed session selection: 21 February 2020

Young Scholars Awards

The EPIP Association will award two Young Scholars Awards for the best full papers submitted by PhD students in economics/management and in law. On submission, if eligible, please indicate if you would like your paper to be considered for the award. More information at https://epip2020.org/awards/

EPIP PhD workshop

The EPIP association supports PhD students in the field through reduced registration fees. In addition, as in previous years, a PhD workshop will be held in the morning of 9 September 2020, as part of the EPIP 2020 annual conference, at no extra cost for all registered students.
