CREATe PhD Opportunity at the University of Edinburgh

Edinburgh-small

This is a 3 year PhD studentship, funded by the University of Edinburgh and explicitly linked to a project within CREATe’s current research programme. The CREATe project ‘Creators’ Organizations’ to which this studentship is attached is based in the School of Law and the SCRIPT centre at The University of Edinburgh and led by Dr Smita Kheria. Formal organisations representing creators can play an important role in shaping the economic and social context of creativity for the creators as well as the business models of the relevant industries. As such, this project will involve a study of the labour relations of creativity for members of creators’ organisations in a number of creative sectors using a socio-legal approach, which may include conduct of historical or empirical research. The PhD candidate recruited will be expected to work within this broad scope. The successful candidate will be based in Edinburgh and it is expected that the candidate will be given opportunities to interact with the rest of the CREATe team and its activities.
